My Dogs

In the "About Me" part of this blog it used to say I live with two dogs. I just noticed that today and corrected it to say one dog. This is because one of them disappeared about seven months ago.

I have no idea what may have happened. I made the mistake of letting them out to run around free late at night for a little while and one night she never came back. She is, or was, an Australian Cattle Dog, a very loyal breed. I nursed her through Parvo when she was a pup and she almost died.

Needless to say, I miss her.

Dog Land

I have opened a dog store at Cafepress. It is named Dog Land. Everyone is invited to take a look, especially if you like dogs.

There's not a lot there, yet. I will be adding new products soon so don't be discouraged if you don't see something you like. Just check back in a week or two and see what's new.

Woodpecker

I have four holes in the side of my house. They were put there by a woodpecker, or by woodpeckers.

One hole is getting pretty big. And the pecking is more like loud knocking in my bedroom and bathroom. Wakes me up real quick.

I know it is a woodpecker because when it's making that god-awful racket I have gone around there and as soon as I clear the corner of the house it flies away. Last time it flew to a telephone pole and latched onto that.

I am going to buy me a BB gun, BB/Pellet gun or a slingshot (slingshot is cheapest) and use that bird for target practice. Slingshot is probably safer, considering there are other houses and people around here.

I might just decide to do some rabbit hunting with it, although one of the guns would probably be better for that, rabbits are fast. Rabbit stew, yum.

I have once again been awake all night, unintentionally. Found out the template I was using for this blog didn't support the 'Read more...' function so had to replace it and modify the new one to work like I want it. Reinstall most of the widgets, resize the template & text, change colors, etc.

Brandi (my biggest dog) is getting anxious this morning. She has way too much energy for a geezer like me. It's starting to get light outside so I'll take them for a walk shortly so she can burn a little of the energy off. They both need to lose a few pounds, anyway.

Heat

Hot. The high today was supposed to be 113* F. My thermometer read 117.

My A/C quit working. Had to call the repairman. While waiting for him my dogs and I felt like we were baking. It got up to 97 inside the house.

The A/C is working now, but we are exhausted just enduring the heat.

Was going to write something else today but can't remember what. Maybe after my brain cools down. The temp inside the house is dropping steadily now that the A/C is working again.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua

I know the movie came out a while back but I just watched it tonight. I thought it was a great movie.

It was fun and funny. Great family entertainment.

I recommend it to anyone that like dogs. And anyone that likes good family entertainment, especially with some good comedy.
