I had a woodpecker making holes in the side of my house. My nephew suggested tacking a rubber snake on the wall to keep it away. Before I got around to obtaining any rubber snakes, or a ladder to get up that high to plaster the holes, the woodpecker had made a hole about three or four inches in diameter.
Now I have a woodpecker nest in the wall. I assume it's a woodpecker nest because I can hear the chicks chirping for food all day long and it was a woodpecker that made the hole.
I am buying a ladder and some plaster tomorrow. Not being a cruel person I must now try to discover when the chicks are grown and gone before I will plaster the hole or mount a rubber snake. Any constructive suggestions?
